Clutch

A failing clutch has many symptoms including:

• Grinding noises
• Jerking and chattering when the clutch is first engaged
• Slipping (more noticeable in low gear)
• Difficulty in engaging gear even with the clutch depressed.

Clutch wear is caused by many elements, like stop start city driving, towing, riding the clutch, aggressive driving and the condition of the engine overall. That said the clutch it is a ‘high-stress’ part and will wear over time to the point of needing replacement.
